My path

  1. My Education

    • Tufts University (Boston, USA) - Bachelor's in Clinical Psychology
    • Vrije University (Amsterdam, Netherlands) - Master's in Clinical Research and Developmental Psychopathology
    • Association for Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and Rehabilitation Programs (Bucharest, Romania) - Training in Individual and Group Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy
    • Autonomous University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain) - PhD in Clinical Psychology

  2. Why I became a therapist

I studied psychology because I found all the phenomena that define us fascinating. Then I fell in love with clinical psychology because it seemed to me the most logical of psychology’s subfields; I’ve always described it as mathematics applied to people. I chose to become a therapist because I believe it’s a privilege to be present in one of the most important-and also vulnerable-moments in a person’s life. I continue to want to contribute even more to this field by acting as a bridge between research and practice.

  3. Research

    • Emotion, Brain, and Behavior Lab (Tufts University) - Studied the relationship between emotions and impulsive behaviors
    • Tufts Applied Cognition Lab - Studied the interaction between cognitive tasks and body movement
    • Center of Addiction Medicine - Investigated the use of medical marijuana and its effects on participants' health
    • ZeroPhobia Lab - Investigated the effectiveness of virtual exposure therapy for people with phobias
    • Riper Lab - Researched existing tools that use artificial intelligence and their effectiveness

  4. Calea Victoriei Foundation

I collaborate with the 'Calea Victoriei Foundation' where I hold lectures and workshops on psychology and mental health. This partnership gives me the opportunity to share personal knowledge and help others better understand the complexities of human behavior. I enjoy contributing to the continuous development of those attending by providing them with the necessary tools to better manage stress and emotions

  5. Upgrade Education

I was responsible for leading content development, monitoring feedback, implementing solutions, identifying stakeholder needs, creating new products, improving educational programs, and recruiting and managing team members. This role allowed me to coordinate and optimize processes, ensuring that educational objectives were efficiently met while supporting the professional growth of my team

  6. Marie Curie PhD

I received a special European scholarship to research how we can advance our investigative methods in order to more accurately capture the individuality of people’s experiences with mental health issues, whether it’s psychosis or depression. My project applies principles from Citizen Science ideology and investigation methods such as Ecological Momentary Assessment to reach the desired outcomes, and I will soon be exploring how both therapists and clients react to the introduction of artificial intelligence in therapy

  7. Dridu Gives Smiles

I designed an intervention program for middle school students in a local school in Dridu. Every month, I organized personal development classes with the students, focusing on socio-emotional growth, discrimination, bullying, and other relevant topics. These sessions allowed me to actively contribute to their growth and development as conscious and responsible individuals in society

  8. Aspire Teachers

I coordinated two educational projects and helped mathematics teachers in Romania develop ready-to-use resources that help students connect mathematics with everyday life. As part of my role I also ran an impact study to measure the effect of our intervention.

  9. Terre des Hommes

I collaborated with the organization Terre des Hommes to facilitate a series of seminars for Ukrainian refugees, focusing on resilience building, processing traumatic experiences, and improving mental health. These workshops provided a safe and supportive space where participants could learn coping techniques and discuss the importance of emotional care in the face of current challenges. Through this initiative, we aimed to support their better integration and adaptation within the community by offering tailored resources and support

  10. Împreună Agency

I provided counseling sessions for middle school students from vulnerable groups, as part of a project initiated by the Împreună Agency. This activity was designed to support young people in overcoming personal and educational challenges, promoting their emotional and social development. Through these meetings, we aimed to offer an understanding and needs-adapted environment, thus contributing to strengthening their self-confidence and improving the academic performance of the participants

  11. Caring Universities

I worked with students dealing with depression, anxiety, or procrastination difficulties, using motivational interviewing techniques and focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance through active listening and mirroring techniques. I helped students identify automatic thoughts and implement emotional regulation strategies. This approach was essential in providing the support needed to overcome emotional obstacles and encouraging meaningful progress in stress management and mental health improvement

  12. Hyperion University

I designed teaching materials and taught the psychology course in English for first-year undergraduate students. This experience helped me develop the ability to convey complex knowledge in an accessible and engaging way, significantly contributing to the academic development of young students. I enjoy seeing how they evolve and deepen their understanding of human psychology
